media4schools Awards 2011
The media4schools Awards 2011 were held on 15th November at Cineworld Cinema in Cardiff and were a huge success! The event attracted a record number of people as well as there being the most film entries ever submitted into the Awards!
Over 350 people attended the ceremony and the audience consisted of primary and secondary schools, community groups, sponsors, industry professionals, mayors and councillors. There were some amazing film entries on show covering a range of different topics, from animations to sporting films and sci fi to music videos. A staggering 300 film entries from schools and community groups were received this year and the judges had a headache in deciding upon winners. The standard this year really was breath-taking.
Anna from Ysgol Maes Yr Yrfa presented this year's show and did and amazing job. She won last year's award for the Best Presenter for her work on the Carmarthen Regeneration film and everyone at the show was very impressed with the way that she presented the ceremony.
Dance Angels from Cardiff also performed two energetic dance routines to open and close the show which was very well received by the crowd.
All of the young people who attended the event received popcorn and goody bags which seemed to be very popular!
We thank all of our schools and community groups for making the awards such a success by getting involved this year and to all of our sponsors and supporters who made staging the media4schools Awards 2011 possible.
