Special Recognition Award – Owain Morgan from Porthcawl Comprhensive |
|
Nominated by his teacher, Mrs Allison Felton, Owain was chosen for this special recognition award for being a key member in numerous projects with media4schools and other media-related ventures from Year 8 to the present. He worked tirelessly to ensure that projects were completed by deadlines, spent hours overcoming glitches with editing and gave up hours of his time to supervise younger pupils in after-school filming activities. He even organised training sessions for new media club members highlighting the basics of filming and editing. Many of the young people he worked with then went on to be involved in media4schools activities - so he really has been inspirational. He has been involved in numerous projects with media4schools, to name a few; a film about democracy, the Bridgend TV4schools insert on Transition - in English and Welsh, a film focusing on Fairtrade, filming from a helicopter as part of a feature on the new St. David’s shopping centre, and more.... He has been in front of and behind camera at every opportunity always supporting others and being an incredible team-player. He also used the skills he learnt in community-related events and charity work. Throughout all of this he has always remained modest and unassuming and has really been a great role model to his peers. |
