Name: Ria Charlton

Job title: Project Manager/Film Producer

I joined the media4 team in August 2006, specifically to produce the media4schools Awards. I moved to Cardiff shortly after completing an MSc in Social Science Research, in which I graduated in 2006. Specifically aiming to enter the media industry and work in research/production, I now manage media4schools in the Caerphilly area and work with communities to produce short films. My most recent production is Open Eyes TV, a short documentary taking four young offenders and re-creating their stories. This short film covers their backgrounds, the crimes which the young people committed, and how they have now turned their lives around.

Name: Michael John Roberts

Job title: Animation and Film Producer

email: mike@media4creative.co.uk

I have worked in the animation industry for over 12 years on various films, shorts and commercials. During this time, I have also been involved with a number of animation projects with children and young people, namely community art organizations, lecturing at colleges and also directing animation projects for schools across Wales.

Joining the team here at media4creative has allowed me to use my experience, skills and knowledge from the industry, to structure animation courses that are both enjoyable and practical, which capture the imagination and inspire a variety of topics. It also gives students the opportunity to realise that animation is accessible to all, thus promoting the animation industry in Wales.

Working here has helped me develop my skills further in scripting, filming and editing. I am currently producing a promotional film for The National Garden of Wales.
